The famous American artist is the protagonist of the cultural program of the Salone with an installation dedicated to the famous work by Michelangelo Buonarroti.
The 2025 edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, from 8 to 13 April, opens with a special project in the year of Euroluce. Robert Wilson, master of light, signs “Mother”, an installation inspired by Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini, in dialogue with Arvo Pärt’s “Stabat Mater”.
Wilson reinterprets the masterpiece in a 30-minute experience of light, music and images, on stage at the Museo Pietà Rondanini – Castello Sforzesco. The work can be visited by reservation until 18 May, with live performances until 13 April, extending the experience beyond Design Week.
“For Robert Wilson, light is not just decoration, but what allows us to see and be moved”, explains Franco Laera, curator of the project.
For the inauguration of the 63rd edition at Teatro La Scala, Wilson curates THE NIGHT BEFORE. OBJECT CHAIRS OPERA, with the Orchestra conducted by Michele Spotti.
